Play Date Cafe Deep & Soulful PDCC164

No 1 Bro

I am so pleased I have played along at the Play Date Cafe this week as this card is for my brothers birthday on Friday (I don't think he follows my blog but in case he does at least he knows what he'll find in the envelope!)

I used Paper Cellar Patterned Papers with a Vintage Car.  Also as I work for an interior designer I had an old fabric samples folder to find just the right shades in gorgous velour cord for the fabric banners.  I stamped No 1 Bro with black ink onto card stock in irony as he is the oldest of my two brothers so feel a card for No 2 Bro is going to be needed.

The colours were really inspiring for a male card and I might just make a few more up in these shades on standby.

suggested colors are...

Cadet Blue...Chartreuse...Leather

Case File #53 Mum & Dad

Mum & Dad With Love

Colours - Pale Dusty Pink, Lavendar, Pale Blue, Pale Yellow Green, Grey

I made another LO for #53 as I loved the colours so much and I had a sheet of hydrangea paper just calling out to be used.

This photo shows my Mum and Dad some years ago now on holiday and so pleased that my Mum's skirt matches the colour scheme too.

To solve the case with this LO I used all the colours. For the evidence I have flowers, metal and scallops using the co-ordinates sheets.

For the testimony I wrong my journal in the form of a recipe -
Mum & Dad Recipe for Marriage,
2 gether for ever,
4 saking all others,
2 love one another,
4 years to come x

Play Date Cafe Frost Beauty PDCC163

Live the Life you Love

A card this time that I'm sending to my cousin - we still write cards and letters to each other and send by snail mail - we're kind of old fashioned like that.

Sorry that the picture isn't that good but light has been so poor here and the card reflects the flash too much.  I've angled it the best I can.

The card was inspired by The Play Date Cafe Challenge

The colours were Champagne, Sky Blue and Tangerine
A gorgeous mix and the pictures were what made me think of adding the diamante from the earrings and also using the velvet material based on the scarf and the fun flower and smiley face from the cuddly toy.  The layout of the card came from the dress - I want one of those too!

The stamp was a little tricky to stamp in blue but I love the sentiment
"Live the Life you Love"

Enjoy!

ColourQ #170

Taz

I have decided to do some more colour challenges to get more LO's done so this one is from ColourQ and to start the new year they asked us pick a palette from their Royal Court of inspiration from last years colours.

I chose the ColourQ Palette #146 from Jen -
Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, Kraft, Basic Black and White

Once I found the base layer I worked on placement of the photo and how I would keep the layout quite masculine.  I think I have achieved this.

It's called Taz because my son is wearing his Tazmania Devil Sweatshirt - it was one of his favourites I remember him wearing it quite a lot.

Case File #53

Female Infant

Colours - Pale Dusty Pink, Lavendar, Pale Blue, Pale Yellow Green, Grey

I loved the colours immediately in this palette and reached for some pictures of my daughter. These are very special pictures that you will read about in my journaling but first this is how I solved the case.

I used all the colours - such pretty pastels. For the Evidence I kept things much simpler than some of my other LO's as there are 3 photos on this page they do take up a lot of room so I have flowers, the baby charms on the envelope and tag are metal and I used scallops. I have also included my signature buttons and the black and white clip art of a Lily on the tag.

The Testimony is something I really wanted to work on and write quite a bit of journaling for these photos and included the words soft, lovely, quiet - I have hidden a card behind the photos with scallops on and this is what it says - FI Rouault - When you were born you died but then you came back to us & we didn't have a name for you. I remember thinking that if I didn't name you then you couldn't be taken away again - you wouldn't die without a name so you were FI Rouault for 24 hours. We did decide to call you Lily but I still wouldn't call you this until you were a day old - if you lived for a day I knew you could manage another & another & on & on. These photos show our first cuddle, you were so quiet - you didn't cry when you was born - you were a soft lovely gorgeous baby girl but you are in an induced coma to help with the trauma you had been through. You had been put on the machines straight away & taken to Intensive Care in the Special Care Baby Unit. I didn't see you for a few hours but I was given the polaroid picture of you.

Scrap Friends Colour Palette Challenge #8

I've Been Good

An interesting palette of colours that I found on Scrap Friends site for their Yummy Scrap Challenge - here is the inspiration picture

I also used a sketch from Page Drafts

Once I found my base layer it was easy finding the rest of the papers to layer up.  It was sheet that I got in an old stash bought off ebay it's Choices Collection Posh Trio.

The photos are of my daughter on my son's 7th birthday.  She wasn't the centre of attention that day so she was playing up - the journaling is behind the photo on the right.  I loved making the bunting and my daughter is a real fan of polka dots.  My signature buttons are there quite prominently on this page and add to the gorgeous yumminess of this LO.

Scrapfit Workout #82

Merry Christmas Jemima

This was a Sketch Challenge from Scrapfit - another page I wanted to complete with a Christmassy feel - I used some old papers that I received in a bundle I bought off ebay called We R Memory Keepers Write Out Collection - Christmas Party.

My daughter when she was almost 2 - both my children were born in January - receiving her Christmas Present from her Uncle and his then Girlfriend now Aunt! - a Jemima Puddleduck.

I turned the sketch on it's side as I saw someone else did this when their photos were landscape and not portrait and the title is on the Christmas Tag at the bottom with the journaling inside.  I made the holly and berries topper myself by pulling apart a Christmas plant decoration and the card toppers finish off the Christmas theme.  I remembered my signature button - a glittery red one in the photo corner too!

Here's the Sketch
