Scrapfit Workout #82

Merry Christmas Jemima

This was a Sketch Challenge from Scrapfit - another page I wanted to complete with a Christmassy feel - I used some old papers that I received in a bundle I bought off ebay called We R Memory Keepers Write Out Collection - Christmas Party.

My daughter when she was almost 2 - both my children were born in January - receiving her Christmas Present from her Uncle and his then Girlfriend now Aunt! - a Jemima Puddleduck.

I turned the sketch on it's side as I saw someone else did this when their photos were landscape and not portrait and the title is on the Christmas Tag at the bottom with the journaling inside.  I made the holly and berries topper myself by pulling apart a Christmas plant decoration and the card toppers finish off the Christmas theme.  I remembered my signature button - a glittery red one in the photo corner too!

Sketches in Thyme #96

Christmas Wishes

A new challenge for me from Sketches in Thyme

I wanted to get some more pages for the scrapbooks done with a Christmas theme whilst I still had all the Christmas Decorations up (coming down today and tomorrow!) so I still feel a little Christmassy.

This Photo was taken at Nana's House for my son's first Christmas - he was almost 1 - we were playing with the contents of the Christmas Crackers and he wanted to wear one of the paper hats which was a bit big for him.

To complete the layout I used chip board toppers, and the contents of a few Christmas Crackers from this year - I only had to open 4 to find a green hat!  The Christmas Card at the bottom went with the overall theme and contains the journaling.  I have also included my signature buttons on the corners of the gorgous striped Christmas Tree paper.

The sketch was so simple and straight forward that I held back and made my LO quite simple and straight forward - sometimes less is more!

Case File #52

Christmas Times

Colours Deep Cranberry Red, Creamy White, Black, Brown Paper and Grey

Two pages for Case File #52! These pages are for both my son's and my daughter's albums so I have created them as almost mirror images of each other. The Christmas Party we went to was a work do at a Nursing Home that I worked weekends at.

I used all the colours and the LO came together so quickly with these colours. From the Evidence I used wood (hearts)and woodgrain (on grey paper behind each photo), string, newsprint paper, tags and washers. My signature buttons are there too!

For the Testimony - I handwrote my journaling - although this is short and sweet (I will work on journaling more descriptively in the New Year) and I also wrote my journaling on tags and tied it to a wooden heart

CSI Case File #51

Fairy

Colours Fuchsia, Ballerina Pink, Off-White, Sky Blue and Teal Blue

Such beautiful colours to use in this Case File.

Another photo of my daugher - well it had to be with all that pink!

I solved the case by using all the colours (although I do apologise about the photo as the pinks look like about 5 different shades but the light catches the different materials and changes them!)

For the Evidence I used - circular objects (buttons), snowflakes (I enjoyed cutting those out), glitter, beads, rhinestones, metal, something filigree (the tag) and something shiny (the pink paper snowflakes and the large clip-on snowflake).

For my Testimony I used a six-word memoir - "Christmas Day Dressed as a Fairy" and added rhinestones here as well.

I cut out the paper snowflakes myself - remembering how I learnt this at school!

CSI Case File #50

Angel

Colours Medium Cocoa Brown, Light Taupe, White, Light Greyish Blue and Dark Greyish Blue

Close Ups

This time I have used a photo for my daughters album as the colours went so much better with her picture of being an Angel in the nativity.

I used all the colours and for the evidence I used ribbon, stripes (from the co-ordinates), glass beads, string, metal elements and something shimmery was the ribbon too. I also included my signature buttons. My testimony was tying a ribbon around my journalling both the envelope and the tag that comes out of it - my journalling reads "you were a beautiful angel in the school nativity - even though you had to wear your trainers!"

CSI Case File #49

I was on the CSI Watch List

I was so proud that my LO for Case File #49 was placed on the Watch List and I got highlighted on the site

The Color Room Palette #140

Sing

Another Layout for The Color Room Palette

Here was the Inspiration

Challenging Colours for a Christmas Layout but I quite like the fact that I had to really think outside the box.  The Unity Stamp of the Musical Christmas Tree really linked in with the photos of my daughter and her Christmas Present.

The Musical Notes flow from one side of the page to the other

I am also adding this LO to a Facebook Group December Challenge

recipe challenge:

1 stamped image
2 pretty papers
3 floral fancies
4 sparkly gems
5 gold rings.... (ok thats optional)

I think I've created quite a bit of a mix!

CSI Case File #49

Christmas Eve, Warm Wishes & Joy

Colours Medium Green, Deep Pink, Light Buttery Yellow, Aqua and Lime Green

Another CSI Case File

This has got to be my favourite LO so far to do. I wanted to do it like the scene as boxes so I found two frames in perfect colours to highlight not just the photo but also the number 24. I thought I was really going to be stuck with the colours as didn't think I had enough Christmas stuff in pink until I found in my stash this fabulous pack of glitter cardboard cut outs - and not just in pink but aqua and mint green too!

I solved the case using all the colours including the light buttery yellow which is in the striped paper behind the photo and in the little tags at the bottom.

For the Evidence I used numbers from the co-ordinates, stickers - parcels under the tree, punches, rhinestones around the photo and surrounding the number 24, buttons - well these are on all my LO's, ribbon on the tags, snowflakes, Christmas/winter accents and hound's-tooth on the co ordinates again.

For the Testimony I have managed two this week - I documented a holiday tradition - Christmas Eve a visit from Friends and I put my journalling inside of something that can be opened - the pink parcel in the bottom right corner comes out and unfolds - the journalling reads - Every Christmas Eve Suzy and William would come to us. You use to play games like find the key and pass the parcel with forfeits including sing a nursery rhyme and say the alphabet backwards. For tea it was always chicken nuggets and chips.

I used some gorgeous glitter brads and chipboards that also had glitter on them.  Red circles, ribbon and flowers - very girlie
